[:ja]学生時代、仰向けに眠れない！という友達がいた。
話を聞くと、彼女の後頭部は外国人のように丸くて、仰向きで寝ると、後ろ頭の先端だけが枕に乗っているような感じで安定せず、グラグラするので、仰向けでも、顔は横に向けて寝るそうだ。
硬い枕の上に、卵を置いたような感じかな？確かに安定は悪そう。
彼女の頭は、とても綺麗な形で、絶壁コンプレックスの私には羨ましい話だったが、頭の形で寝方も変わるんだなぁ〜と、この時に初めて知った。当時は低反発の枕はなかったのかな？
これまでのアンケートを見ても、枕に不満を持つ人は多い。
最近は、眠る時の姿勢によって、横向き枕やうつ伏せ枕というのもあるそうだ。
枕の高さは、立った時の姿勢を、寝た状態でも保てる高さがいいのだとか。
つまり、仰向きなら「首と頭のそれぞれの高さ」、横向きの時は「肩・首・頭の各部の高さ」がフィットしていること。
これで、からだに負担をかけない寝姿勢が作れるらしい。あと、寝返りがしやすいことも重要なポイントだそうだ。
私は、以前は、高めの枕で横向きで寝ていたが、最近は低めで、仰向けで眠る。
数年前から、体操をするようになって、姿勢が変わったので、心地よいと感じる枕も変わったのかも。
先日、ストレッチをちょいやりすぎて、お尻がギックリになったが、その時は、仰向けで眠れず、丸まって寝ていた。
ギックリでなくとも、座りっぱなしの日と、よく歩いた日でも、微妙に姿勢も変わる。
そう考えてみると、体型や姿勢によって、一人一人心地よい枕は異なるということだし、同じ人でも、日々、フィットする枕の高さも微妙に違うってことなんだろうね。
そうそう、これまでのアンケートで、「寝具の買い替え時期がわからない！」というご意見をたくさんいただいたので調べてみました。
頭の重さは体重の8％程度で、体重50Kgの人なら4〜5Kg。
枕は、この重さを毎日、支えているので、中身がへたって、高さが低くなるらしい。
わたやフェザー、ウレタンフォーム（低反発など）は2〜3年、パイプ素材は4〜5年が目安だとか。
私自身の体験では、太ったり、痩せたり、そして、年齢と共に変化する姿勢も買い替えの目安になると思う。
私は、次は、オーダーメイド枕を試してみたいなぁ〜。
