卒業後、ず〜っと仕事をし続けてきたが、「働く女性に乾燥機は必需品」と上司に言われ、「確かに！」と思い、結婚を機に乾燥機を使うようになった。
以来、乾燥機しか使ってこなかった。
虫干しは布団乾燥機。これは、冬は布団が温まるので、結構気に入っている。
ただ、乾燥機は、時間がかかる＝電気代がかかる。くちゃくちゃになるし、縮むし、生地は傷む・・・。シーツもかなり縮む。
乾燥機が壊れた時には、当時、私にはコインランドリーを使うという選択肢はなくて、狭くて、埃っぽいベランダにシーツを干す気にはなれず、クリーニングに出したこともある。
数年前に、室内があまりに乾燥して、濡れたバスタオルをかけていたら、瞬く間に乾くことがわかり、冬は、室内の湿度コントロールも兼ねて、室内干しをすることが増えた。
布団の上げ下ろし、リネン類の洗濯、虫干し・・・一人でさえ大変なのに、大家族はさぞ大変だと思う。
母は、かなりの頻度でシーツ類を洗濯していたが、その理由は、父の枕カバーとシーツ。男1人女3人の家族では、どうしても男性の「ニオイ」は気になるもの。
